We've joined Moms, Inc. What a great group of women - kind and supportive, and I just couldn't be more excited. Kind of like networking, but in that super special way moms do things. (there were good snacks) and a few kids and a wealth of information. Everyone was glad to share their secrets and tips, and trade web sites and networking links. That was the best two hours I've spent in a while, and I'm really looking forward to the next one.
Till then-

A Bull, A Bag, and a Boy
So it's late here, at www.bagsinabag.com HQ - like 2AM. And my cat Bullwinkle is pushing on my face. To any other cat, you put them on the floor - and shoo 'em away if you're in the middle of something, right? Not Bullwinkle. Bull is unique...she's - well, she's bad. She's curious and adventurous and she loves to laugh at competitive ice skaters when they slip. She's that kind of bad. So when she wants love, you give it to her. 'Cause by tomorrow morning she'll be stepping in your Cheerio's just to see if you like the white splash as much as she does. So Bull on my lap it is.
Today was my 10 year wedding anniversary. And my boy had the presence of mind to know that if he wanted to be included in this project, the easiest way was to get us a gift. STAT. So while running errands this afternoon he asked me what movie do I think my husband and I would like. "Something funny" I said. And we ended up with Will Smith "Seven Pounds." I'm no movie afficianado or anything, but I'm not so sure about the 'funny' genre, eh?
And, lastly, last night's bag party. www.bagsinabag.com Here's the thing - the bags are too cute. Whenever someone sees them they need them. So why are they online in some little hole alone? People LOVE the bags. And I don't sell one, I sell many - to the same people. So here's my blog: Get out there and spread the good word about your bag! Tell us the emergency it got you out of - (Karen - wasn't there something about a big hand boo-boo and needing the rubber glove?) (Kristen - using your asprin, handy wipe and Cotton bag all in the same day?!?!) (Pat- making a 'shelf' in the car for the iPod using velcro, rubber bands and scotch tape?)
So here's my question of the day...
What has the bag done for you?

A Snappy Son
I read that The Children's Place (www.thechildrensplace.com) is trying to get into the blog world with an outstanding promotion. Guess what? I'll bite. Why? See my profile picture? That delicious muffin sitting in front of me is in a Children's Place sweater. And probably jeans, too, though you can't see them. I think they're clothes are the best.
My son has been described as "preppy" and I think that is due in large part to TCP clothes. We all know that there's not nearly as good of a selection for boys as there is for girls ANYWHERE, but if anyone is attempting it, it's them. Their consistent use of seasonal solids make it easy to have a stylish and snappy son. I think, at least.
And then here's the other thing: SENSORY ISSUES. Who else knows not to have crunchy tags, or tag leads that stay in clothes years later? Children's Place! Anyone with a child anywhere on or even NEAR the autism spectrum knows how important that is.
And then there's him. The little mod muffin himself. He has many clothing choices, requests and interests - and I know we can both be happy there. He likes to pick out his favorite sweatshirts or t-shirts and have me find the pants to match. Occasionally it's his favorite navy plaid elastic waist ones, but typically it's jeans. It's like - Grrrrrrrrranimals with style here in my house!
So kudos to you - and to me for being the style beneficiary!

Bags Bags Everywhere, Blog post 1
So I have a bag room...which may - to some - sound frivolous. But actually, I sell them - so it's not. But besides that, here's the thing. I'd rather be in my bag room than almost anywhere. I'd rather be there than sleeping, eating, watching TV. I can't believe that I've gotten this far and only just now created a bag room.
And then here's the other thing.
I'm wondering if I'm the only person who really feels this way. I mean - are there people who love little things in their life so much that they actually bring them joy? Not the joy that a child hitting the baseball against all odds brings, or a kitten shaking when she wakes up from a snuggly sleep, or the hard belly laughter that Dumb and Dumber leaves you with. But joy in the fun and happy way. Little things? Anyone?
I am not sure whether to be happy for myself that I've discovered and indulged this, or worried about my OCD. I'm lookin' for input people!
Hope your rainy Monday is filled with a little something to bring you joy.
